Every pot gets a shelf.

Kilnroll is the booking sheet for your studio’s shared kiln. Members claim a space, and we text them when it’s cool.

After the firing

The shelves go back by the kiln, and Tuesday’s bisque firing opens for booking as soon as Dot is empty.

From the studios

The shelf stopped being a fight.

“I used to lose Sunday night to the sign-up sheet. Since we put Dot on Kilnroll, I spend it glazing.”

“Since the tags went on, nobody’s teapot has been glazed to a shelf. That used to cost us a shelf a term.”

“I booked my first cone 6 firing from the bus. The jug came out on Saturday, exactly where the tag said.”

“We run two kilns for forty members. The Thursday class can see what the Tuesday class booked, and I’ve stopped refereeing.”

Tags and texts

Five questions the studio stops asking.

Every pot carries a tag we print from its booking, and we text the maker when there’s news. The questions that used to land on the kiln tech answer themselves.

  • Pot tags

    Whose pot is this?

Maker, clay and glaze on every piece, so nothing low-fire sneaks into a cone 6 firing.
