One shared page for the five of you.

Fivefold is where you and your four plan Sunday lunches and weekends away. Each of them writes in their own colour, and you write in ink.

Amara, Theo, Jonah and Ines are fictional.

Amara, a fictional woman with short dark curls and a pencil behind one ear, mid-sentence in a rose knit jumper.

Oven’s free from twelve if anyone needs it.

Amara31 sharedWritten at 8:02

Theo, a fictional young man with dark curly hair and a beard, holding a mug in both hands, in an apricot overshirt.

I’m bringing the good corkscrew. Remind me.

Theo24 sharedWritten at 8:47

Jonah, a fictional older man with grey hair, laughing, one hand at his collar, a citron scarf around his neck.

I’ll lead the walk at half four. Boots are in the car.

Jonah17 sharedWritten at 9:51

Ines, a fictional woman with shoulder-length dark hair, smiling off to one side in a sea-green cardigan.

Flowers are ordered. I’ll collect them on the way.

Lunch at ours on Sunday, one o’clock. I’m doing the roast, so please don’t bring a roast. Add what you’re bringing below.

Lemon cake. The good one this time, not the one that sank in the middle.

Theo9:20

The long table and two folding chairs. If it stays dry, can we eat outside?

My sister’s coming too. She’s in town until Monday and has heard a lot about this roast.

Ines10:31

Flowers from the market, and I’m on washing up. I owe you all for last time.

Saturday, by the lake

Then the table fills.

Five friends eating at a wooden table on a lakeside porch, backlit by afternoon sun, the chairs throwing long shadows across the boards. Amara in her rose knit and Jonah in his citron scarf pass bowls of soup, Theo in his apricot overshirt and Ines in her sea-green cardigan are laughing, and the fifth friend sits with their back to the camera.

Everything on the list made it to the porch. Fivefold keeps the record of who brought what and what everyone said after.

Jonah, fictional, walking a gravel shore path at dusk in his citron scarf, a torch lighting the path ahead.
